BUYING A NEW DRASCOMBE
Churchouse Boats are the sole licensed builder of Drascombe boats
in GRP.

The Drascombe name has a very good
reputation. It is widely known & well respected, resulting in high residual
values when the time comes to sell - though that will probably only be to trade
up to a newer or larger Drascombe! There are some 6,000 Drascombes around the
world.
The Churchouse name is synonymous with
Drascombe. All the boats are built to the same high, Churchouse standard & will
give years of pleasurable service.

SPECIFICATIONS
The boats all share a common core specification:
GRP hull & deck. White hull, light grey deck.
Expanded foam buoyancy.
First quality hardwood trim.
Laminated tiller & bronze or stainless steel tiller head.
Terylene sails. Sitka spruce
spars. Synthetic cordage.
Aft locker hatch(es).
Stemhead fitting, cleats,
fairleads & rowlock sockets in bronze (stainless steel option
available).
Brass
strip from stemhead to keel including winch eye. Iroko keel plank.
Galvanised steel centreplate.
Galvanised kick-up rudder (timber
rudder on Dabber).
We start with, a Sailaway Specification for each boat which can be summed up
quite simply. It provides a complete, no frills boat that can be sailed &
enjoyed. Full Sailaway Specifications can be provided on request.
Then we have a list of options that may be added as desired or required.
These are set out on the Price List.
In addition to the published options
list, we have a wide range of other fittings & accessories developed out of our
own use of these boats. We can also incorporate particular bespoke modifications
& improvements into your craft.

HOW TO ORDER
The easiest part of all!
We ask for an initial deposit of £1,000, including VAT. That
payment secures a production slot for your boat & prices at current levels.
We then ask for a further payment of 25% when we start building.
At that time the specification needs to be firmed up in respect of hull & deck
gel colours & one or two other specifics. Soon after that, any outstanding small
details need to be finalised.
The balance of payment falls due when you collect your boat from
us. Handover usually takes a couple of hours as we rig the boat for you, take
coffee, pass on some of our knowledge & experience of using these boats & snug
it all down ready for travel.
